We have one arriving in a few weeks and would like to be able to talk to it. We run Unix 4.1bsd on a Vax-11/780. (Our ditroff talks to nothing at the moment.) (By the way, I haven't seen any laser-people mail. Has there been some?)

From: Marshall Rose <mrose.uci@rand-relay> We have an Imagen laser printer and run ditroff. The ditroff distribution tape comes with an imagen driver called "dcan", that needed some work before it would run correctly. The problem is that the ditroff distribution assumes an old imagen controller (aka IMP), and does not work with the newer Imagen controllers. We use ditroff with pic and ideal fairly successfully, with a couple of problems. I had heard from Imagen that Kernighan was going to upgrade ditroff for the new imagen stuff. I hope so. In any event, after you get your imagen, let me know, and I'll send you the changes we made to dcan, etc. (I'm assuming you already got the ditroff distribution tape). /mtr
