sri-unix seems to be posting duplicates to a lot more than just unix-wizards. For that matter, they are posting a huge amount of RotJ garbage into either net.movies or net.sf-lovers instead of net.movies.sw or better still /dev/null. I feel that they are gatewaying a lot more junk into this net than we really need (after all, this net creates a vast amount of junk without their help). They have the advantage of a much faster transmission rate (~50kbps?) than do most usenet links and can therefore transmit larger or more numerous articles than this net can rationally support. Furthermore, much of the stuff that gets through has no relevance to this net anyway. Anyone else out there feel that the gateway should be shut down, or at the very least restricted to groups such as unix-wizards and net.micro.* which usually contain articles of technical merit? If the gateway also works in the opposite direction then, presumably, the same kind of 'weeding' can be done to usenet articles that go into arpa.
