We've just brought up 4.1c on one of our machines; for reasons that aren't quite clear to me, it has a DMF32. Now -- the DMF32 is in many ways an admirable board *except* that it only has modem control on 2 of its 8 asynch lines. That, I assume, no one on the net can fix. But our other problem is that the printer on this VAX is on the DMF32, and there's no driver for the printer portion in 4.1c. Does anyone have one? (Failing that, does anyone know for *certain* if the LP25 printer is compatible with the LP11 controller? Or is there a RS232-LP25 box around?) Also, the modem control code doesn't seem to work (and the comments imply that it hasn't been tested); the trouble seems to be that it's using byte instructions to set bits in word-only registers. At any rate, we can't seem to get DTR out of the sucker, though it does detect hangups. Has anyone fixed that problem? Finally, has anyone implemented a network driver compatible with the DMR-11 driver in 4.1c? The manual says the DMF32 supports DDCMP, so it shouldn't be to hard. --Steve Bellovin Bell Labs, Murray Hill mhb5b!smb (soon to be ulysses!smb)
