If you have been reading net.unix-wizards lately, you will have noticed that questions from rookies receive more heat than help. You must also realize that the net is a great help to new unix users. Clearly, these points, taken together, beg for the creation of a new group. Wizards have important things to TALK about, like how to keep 4.1c from crashing. Novices have important things to ASK, like "What's ditroff?" Let's create a group for novices! Steve Scalpone teklabs!ogcvax!rascal

Why not just call it "net.unix" and let people ask questions about UNIX(tm) there? This egotistical separation of the "novices" and "wizards" does more to impeed the usefulness and general understanding of UNIX than anything else.

A more useful idea would be to create a group for all those articles proposing a unix-novices group, so the rest of us can unsubscribe...
