We have a problem with the following configuration: a SUN SPARC station (4/60) with 2 internal disks of SUN (Quantum Prodive 105S), a floppy, 2 Ethernet controlers and 2 external disk drives CDC Wren 94181-702 (coming from another supplier), supporting SCSI II (synchroneous SCSI bus). We received the following error message: Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: esp0: unwanted data out Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: sd2: SCSI transport failed: reason 'reset': retrying command Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: sd0: SCSI transport failed: reason 'reset': retrying command Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: sd2: Error for command 'read' Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: Error Level: Fatal Block: 64 Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: Sense Key: Not Ready Mar 8 16:30:01 info-sparc1 vmunix: The disk is perfect, and it runs on a SUN 3/60 (asynchronous SCSI). Our local dealer of SUN says that SUN does not support this model of the disk; I found it in the /etc/format.dat in SUN OS 4.0.3.c ??? Any idea to solve this problem ? Please, answer by mail because I dont read the news for the moment: I receives them on that disk .... H. Broze System Engineer Universite Catholique de Louvain Belgium
