[comp.sys.sun] denying other access on /dev/drum

grant@saturn.cs.swin.oz.au (Grant Collins) (05/09/90)

A recent article on security posted to the net has suggested denying
"read" access to /dev/drum for "others" (specifically under SunOS 4.X). I
now have users who can't run commands such as "w". How should I get
around this? Is there a better solution or should I just tell them stiff
luck...?
