Hi. There appears to be a minor problem with SunOS 4.0.3 finger. This probably isn't a generic BSD problem, because it works OK on our 4.3BSD IBM RTs. Also, it may be fixed in SunOS 4.1. Anyway, the problem is that if (a) you try to "finger <name>" and (b) <name> is the last name of more than one user, and (c) there exists an account with the login <name>, then only the information for the account with login <name> will appear. If <name> is a first name and there is an account with that name, there does not seem to be a problem. I don't know what happens if <name> is one user's last name and and another user's firstname - I haven't checked. We have source, so patches will be gratefully accepted. Thanks. Michael
