[comp.sys.sun] SLC S-bus expansion : SUMMARY.

devil@TECHUNIX.BITNET (Gil Tene) (06/02/90)

The question was something like : "Can I use S-bus expansion products
to add S-bus slots to the Sparcstation SLC ?".

To quote kessler@suneast.East.Sun.COM (Tom Kessler) :
"Think of it as a zero slot S-bus with a monochrome framebuffer
 permanently attached to it. "

It seems that the SLC has the Sbus architecture built into it, but "wired"
out of it. The one S-bus connection is the mono frame buffer which is
wired onto the board, no Sbus connectors going out.

This means : NO ! you cannot fiddle with the SLC and add Sbus slots to it,
what a shame...
