[comp.sys.sun] libcurses.a

root@iuvax.cs.indiana.edu (Boss Tweed) (06/11/90)

We're using tn3270 on our Suns (Sparcstations with SunOS 4.0.3c) to access
our IBM mainframe. We've noticed that there is a bug, which I'm almost
certain is in libcurses.a, which causes some information on some screens
to be positioned exactly one character to the left of where it should be.
This is largely a cosmetic problem, but also confusing to users who must
enter data in fields..if they try to move the cursor to the beginning of
one these offset fields, they of course get a "protected field" error from
tn3270.

Has anyone else had this same problem, and if so is there a known fix?

I doubt that the problem is in tn3270 itself, as it makes such heavy use
of the curses library. Also, the same source compiled and run on non-Sun
platforms doesn't have this problem.

Please response via email if you can help...thanks in advance.
