Is there a way to recover a tar tape that has been scribbled on? Essentially, I have a 1/4 inch tape, written in SunOS 3.5 tar format that wasn't (yes, shame on me) write-protected. In the course of events, someone did a "tar c" when they meant to do a "tar x". Am I completely SOL, or is there a way to extract some or all the data?
