I am looking for a watchdog program to run as a daemon process. What I want it to do is to keep track of how long processes have been idle, and assuming that the process is not on a specified exclusion list it and it has been idle a specified time, it would be killed. I seem to have a lot of problems with processes such as a dos window which get disconnected, but don't die, instead they just sit idling there until someone kills them. Since we don't have many users who know unix well enough to understand ps, I need to run a daemon to take care of this for me. Any help would be appreciated. Jim Lewallen cscon113@uoft02.utoledo.edu
