I am trying to setup a secondary DNS server on a system running 4.1 but I keep getting the following message: Aug 13 hostname named[73]: reload of xfer'd zone DOMAIN.NAME failed Here are some symptoms. When I initially boot the machine "nslookup" fails all lookups. After removing hosts.bak and hosts.rev.bak and sending -HUP to named everything starts working correctly. Here's named.boot ; boot file for secondary name server ; sortlist 128.32.0.0 128.45.0.0 128.3.0.0 36.0.0.0 128.102.0.0 10.0.0.0 directory /etc/namedb ; type domain source host/file backup file secondary DOMAIN.NAME xxx.xxx.xxx.xx yyy.yyy.yyy.y hosts.bak cache . root.cache secondary 114.128.IN-ADDR.ARPA xxx.xxx.xxx.xx yyy.yyy.yyy.y hosts.rev.bak primary 0.0.127.IN-ADDR.ARPA localhost.rev ***************************************************************************** File resolv.conf contains "domain DOMAIN.NAME". Yes, named-xfer does exist. -rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 98304 Feb 7 1990 /usr/etc/in.named* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 40960 Feb 7 1990 /usr/etc/in.named-xfer* Any ideas?
