We've come across a bug which appears to be an interaction between sendmail 5.64 and SunOS 4.0.3. Has anyone seen anything like this? The system in question is a 4/280 running 4.0.3, serving 23 clients. This system had been running sendmail 5.61. When 5.64 was installed, sendmail processes serving incoming mail began hanging left and right, so we backed off to 5.61. It appears that the major difference is that 5.64 uses flock() to implement file locks on the local system, rather than the locking files (lf*) which used to be used. Also, we're running 5.64 on another 4/280 which is at 4.0.1, and the problem *has not* been observed on that machine. As usual, please email direct if you have any info, will summarize if any useful info comes to light.
