Armando may be right about 4.2BSD not supporting the second Unibus adaptor on a VAX 11/750 (I don't know because I don't have 4.2 yet), but how come in: "Hints on Configuring VAX Systems for Unix Revised for 4.2BSD: March 15, 1983 Bob Kridle & Sam Leffler" on page 9 (Table 1) it says: Criterion UDA50/RA81 Emulex SC7?0/Fujitsu Eagle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Initial Purchase UDA50 and 1st RA81 - SC750 and first Eagle - Cost - 750 $57.00/Mbyte w/o additional $55.00/Mbyte UNIBUS adaptor; $70.00/Mbyte with UNIBUS adaptor Initial Purchase UDA50 and 1st RA81 - SC780 and 1st Eagle - Cost - 780 $83.00/Mbyte with UNIBUS $65.00/Mbyte adaptor . . . . . . . . . Column 2 implys to me that 4.2 supports 2 UBAs on a 750. Am I misreading things? Has Berkeley really put this support in? OR is the documentation wrong? From: Mike.Caplinger <mike.rice@rand-relay> There is no 750 dual Unibus support in 4.1c; I don't know yet about 4.2. As we have dual Unibus 750s at Rice, we were forced to write the code ourselves for 4.1, and it should port easily to 4.1c anyway. It's quite trivial, and if anyone is interested I can send them a description of what needs to be changed, and maybe a diff, though I'll have to get the Berkeley original back from tape. I irresponsibly deleted it locally in a fit of enthusiasm.
