I have recently upgrade our SUN sparc stations (SS1's). Shortly after I did that one of the stations would not boot giving me the message: Booting from: sd(0,0,0)vmunix Can't read disk label Can't read boot blocks Boot load failed This was my system disk sd0. I tried booting from st(0,0,4) and the following message appeared on the screen (during the boot): sd0 at esp0 target lun 0 sd0: unable to read label sd0: Vendor 'Quantum', product 'P10555', (unknown capacity) sd1 at esp0 target lun 0 sd1: <Quantum ProDrive 1055 cyl 974 alt 2 hd 6 sec 357 more messages then panic: hat_unlock Syncing files systems... panic: hat_unlock more messages I tried formating the disk but got the message: searching for disks ... sd0: offline Today (about a week later) a second sparc has the exact same disk problems on sd0. Has anybody experienced something like this?? Could this be related to the new 4.1 operating system?? Any ideas how to fix the drives or do they need to be repaired??
