The following is the summary of the response to our request for an image grabber for sparc-I which was posted on sun-spots, v9n302: I got couple of pieces of imformation on frame grabber which were claimed to be able to interface to SPARC-I directly. The one we are very interested is the SPARC Card TC PIP from RASTEROPS Co. This product has just been summsrized by Florian. Please refer to sun-spot digest, v9n302 to get more detailed information. The basic software to manupulate the grabber comes with 3.5" minidisk. The other board we found is the DASM-FGM monochrome frame grabber from CDA Division. DASM-FGM can interface to a SPARC station via the SC SI port and works as a virtual SCSI disk driver. Image data is stored in the DASM-FGM as SCSI blocks. Software is available from CDA. But as I know, to make DASM-FGM work with SPARC-I the kernal of SUNOS has to be modified. The prices of above two products are almost the same, ranging from $6000 U.S.D. to $10000 U.S.D. depending on what configuration you need. But CDA only gives 20% I heard that Sun Co. may announce a forthcoming image grabber for sparcstation very soon, but I can't comfirm it.
