[comp.sys.sun] problem with inetd and in.telnetd ...

I have a problem with the inetd and in.telnetd in SunOS 4.0.3. Here are
the symptoms:

If you kill the inetd daemon with a kill -TERM and then restart it, the
in.telnetd daemon seems to hang each time you try to telnet to that
machine. The strange thing is that rlogin still works as do other services
like finger.

Everything works fine if you reboot the machine and that problem does not
seems to happen on 4.1 machines.

So my question is if anybody knows about that problem and if there is a
less drastic measure than rebooting the machine.
