I'm trying to start up good old fashioned Unix accounting on network of Seven SparcStations. The network consists of Six Clients (small local disks on each mahine) and a server with about 650 Meg. I also have access to a large amound of disk from a local server. The problem is I can't find any documentation on accounting in all of Sun's manuals. (How much did I pay for all of these books -- and they didn't even have binders!) The book by Evi Nemeth is somewhat helpful, but it looks like Sun does things differently e.g. I can't where the adm login fits into the scheme of things. If anybody could help me out through email, phone, or by letting me look at their crontab, /usr/adm/acct, etc. I'ld really appreciate it. I'm having a devil of a time getting things figured out. Are there any good books on the topic?????? * seaney@cogsci.uiuc.edu * 2127 Beckman Institute * * 217 / 244-3666 * Urbana, Il 61801 *
