I have received many responses about the cheapest Sun. The reason I specified new Suns is that I knew there would not be one definitive answer for used Suns, so I asked only for new. Irregardless of this, I received some offers from people selling used equipment. If you want the list (of four names with addresses), send me a note. Most people recommended a 3/50 as the cheapest (yet supported) used Sun. Meanwhile, the bottom line is this: The slowest new Sun (the 3/80) is not the cheapest. The cheapest Sun is the Sun SLC (4/20) at $4995. It comes with a 17" monitor, 8MB of RAM, and SCSI port, but no disk. It is said to operate at around 12.5 MIPS. p.s. What is the cost of the SunOS for used equipment? Is there a maintenance fee to receive the upgrades? -David- david@wubios.wustl.edu ^ Mr. David J.
