[comp.sys.sun] How to configure Fuji M2263SA

eap@bu-pub.bu.edu (Eric Pearce) (10/08/90)

I've installed 13 of these drives and they all work fine. This is the
format.dat entry we've been using:

 disk_type = "CRANEL-M2263SA" \
        : ctlr = MD21 \
        : ncyl = 1656 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 1658 : nhead = 15 : nsect = 50 \
        : rpm = 3600 : bpt = 31296

I started looking through the OEM manual and noticed I was using different
jumper settings from the factory defaults. Does anybody know the
"correct" settings for jumper block CNH2?

 This is what I have set now.

 pins 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 shorted, all others open.

Would I get better performance by enabling the 3 to 4 MB/s transfer
jumper? Does it work on the Sun scsi bus? I don't know if this makes a
difference or not, but these are in use on 3 different systems:
SparcStation 1+ internal scsi, 4/370 internal scsi controller and a 4/280
with a scsi host adaptor.
