Sun Microsystems has proposed a new version of their ScholarPac Software
Support Program to the University of Washington. The program, which would
be administered on a per system basis, includes many of the software
products already in use on many Sun workstations. Participation in the
program is voluntary. However, product updates will be distributed only
to those systems included in the program. The cost is dependent on the
number of systems included in the program. The base cost of the ScholarPac
program is $11,000 for 50 to 300 systems. Thus the annual cost per system
may be between $37 and $220. There are no initial or matching funds
provided by NDC or the University for this program at this time.
