Sun Microsystems has proposed a new version of their ScholarPac Software Support Program to the University of Washington. The program, which would be administered on a per system basis, includes many of the software products already in use on many Sun workstations. Participation in the program is voluntary. However, product updates will be distributed only to those systems included in the program. The cost is dependent on the number of systems included in the program. The base cost of the ScholarPac program is $11,000 for 50 to 300 systems. Thus the annual cost per system may be between $37 and $220. There are no initial or matching funds provided by NDC or the University for this program at this time. The ScholarPac Software Support Program includes the following: Operating System: Latest version of SunOS for Sun3 and Sun4 systems Possible support for 386i systems Unbundled Software: Sun Fortran Sun Modula-2 Sun Pascal Sun C++ SunGKS Sun PHIGS SPE SunLink DNI Sun Common Lisp SunLink TE100 SunLinkk X.25 NetISAM OpenWindows PC-NFS Developers Guide DOS_Windows Proposed Additions: SunNet Manager Simplify SQL XGL SunVision Cobol Services: Media and Documentation on a limited basis with the right to copy Access to Sun on-line services (undefined) Subscription to Sun's Software Technical Bulletin Please contact any of the following for more information: Sheryl Burgstahler sherylb@cac Melanie Hansen melanie@cac Bryan Rawson rawson@cac
