I am currently looking into the purchase of a CD ROM drive and associated software. The prime motivation for this is for use with Macs, since Apple are now releasing major software packages on CD ROM. However, we also have a number of Sun SparcStations, and it would be nice if we could share the hardware with those. So what I would like to know is: does anybody out there (particularly in Australia, so that prices and suppliers are more relevant) have any experience, good or bad, with any particular player? What is available for use with the Mac, other than Apple's offering (which is probably comparatively pricey). Finally, is there anybody out there who has obtained a player with driver software for both Mac *and* SunOS? Or who is using (or has seen) a player from a company who advertise compatibility and software for both environments?
