Posting for a friend, replies to psc@unicon.UUCP are also welcome, as postings .. thnx /Ev/ I have need of SunOS information which would allow us to implement a VME backplane TCP/IP mechanism. I have tried to get information from my local Sun office without success. In particular, my configuration is a Sparc 6U VME board communicating via shared VME memory with a 68030 based real-time CPU. I can't seem to get any information from SUN on how an experienced user can implement a send-a-packet/receive-a- packet style of driver from Sun. I've been told that the typical Ethernet interface driver is "special", and is not implemented as a typical character type device driver. The real-time side of the picture is already completed; what I need is information to allow me to write a new SunOS driver to complete my application. Any direct information on this topic, or direction to a "real" answer-man at SUN would be appreciated.
