Anybody else seeing this? Exerpt from ROUTED(8C) SunOS 4.1 |"In addition to processing incoming packets, routed also periodically |checks the routing table entries. If an entry has not been updated for 3 |minutes, the entry's metric is set to infinity and marked for |deletion. Deletions are delayed an additional 60 seconds to insure the |invalidation is propagated throughout the internet." Can anyone tell me why in.routed with 4.1 consistently deletes routing table entries well below the above mentioned timers? The average time we're seeing is 1 minute and 40 seconds. Range of 50 seconds to 2 minutes 30 seconds. Exerpt from ROUTED(8C) SunOS 4.1 |"The routing daemon uses a variant of the Xerox NS Routing Information |Protocol in maintaining up to date kernel routing table entries." If this is so, deletions should occur roughly at 4 minutes. How "variant" is it?
