[comp.sys.sun] dbx and Sun C++ 2.0

jlv@uunet.uu.net (Jeffrey L. Vogel) (01/08/91)

I have Sun C++ 2.0, which comes with its own version of dbx, as well as
other utilities such as nm++, yacc++, etc. Altough I can compile and run
C++ programs fine, I cannot get dbx to run. It exits immediately with the
message

fatal error: I/O error

Any clue out there?

You need to extract the C++ patch from your OS tape. In this patch is a
new dbx that attempts to understand C++ manglings.
