When a set of suntools is invoked by suntools, the base frame and all its subframes inherit by default the colormap cms_mono. If one writes a sunview program, one can assign a frame and its subframes a different colormap with a size that is a power of 2. One can also change the foreground and background colors of the default colormap using appropriate suntools options. So much for what CAN be done. BUT, can one invoke suntools so that the base frame and all of the frames and subframes in the window system inherit a different user specified colormap of appropriate size (power of 2) by default unless a tool specifies its colormap explicitly? If this were possible, it would make it easy to make tooltool applications colorful. Alternately, has anyone modified the suntools.c code so that the user can specify an alternate colormap.
