From: Alan Parker <parker@nrl-css> Anyone put berknet on System 5? Any reason why it shouldn't work? -Alan

From: Ron Natalie <ron@brl-bmd> I've compiled the telnet, ftp, and a few other TCP daemons and user programs to run with the BRL System III/V compatibility library. Unfortunately they run on a Berkeley kernel. I'll trade these for a copy of the system III/V kernel with the Berkeley networking system calls and select. -Ron

From: Steve Dyer <sdyer@bbn-unix> I think what was meant by "berknet" on System V was NOT 4.2BSD's IPC mechanisms, but rather the old, creaky asynch-line-based batch network which used the BK(5) line discipline.

From: Ron Natalie <ron@brl-bmd> Anyway, my offer of the user mode code still stands for any one (Bell, Berkeley, BBN, or whatever). -Ron
