Since ncsu!fostel decided to publish the irresponsible food-for-thought for bypassing unix permission codes, it's time for everyone to implement some increased protection. May I suggest a main course of a setuid root program to set/clear flag (1 per user) which enables/disables the user from setting setuid(setgid) bits "on his own"? Program requires input from actual terminal device, etc. --Stuart Hollander (genrad!stuart)
