We are looking for a 680x0 assembly language program development environment, suitable for use by students. In particular we are looking for an assembler that produces listings, follows the Motorola syntax, and has some minimal macro capability (this last is the lowest priority item on the list, the others are absolutes). We then need some reasonable debugging environment under which to run the programs. We are running on Sun 3s, and the Unix assembler is pitiful and adb is hardly something we want freshman to have to deal with. Any leads on either a commercial product or public domain software would be appreciated. Also, if you know of a good textbook using the 68K would be helpful. Please reply by e-mail, as I don't normally read these groups. I will post a summary of responses, so if others are interested they can get the info in a concise way.
