Well you are, in fact, wrong ( and forgiven ;-) )

You can use NeWSPrint with any Postscript printer including the
Laserwriter.  I use it with a NEC Postscript printer (Very much like a
LaserWriter).

When you set a up a printer under NeWSPrint you can tell it that the
printer is a postscript printer. It will then fall back to being a
transcript-like package.  Personally I like it much more than Transcript
as it is more flexible in how you can filter structured postscript
documents. The filters it comes with are nicer. It also allows you to add
your own filters, set up default behavior for various files types etc.

In short there are reasons for getting the NeWSPrint software package even
if you already have a PostScript printer.
