Reading from the info that comes with it: Transcript is a suite of UNIX programs that enable UNIX systems to access Postscript printers. The package includes translator filters for troff, ditroff and plot. (ditroff, troff and plot do not come with transcript) It also includes filters for "line-printer" listings, Diablo 630 print files and screen dumps. Transcript is fully integrated into the UNIX BSD\ to print job banner pages, do page accounting and peform full 9600 baud RS232 communication with a Postscript printer. Source: Adobe Systems Inc. 1870 Embarcadero Rd. Suite 100 Palo Alto, CA 94303 If you order the LaserWriter Interface Kit from Sun you get a serial cable and the Transcript software with docs for $1800 list. It says that Transcript is not available yet for Sun-4 in Sun's price list. michael

Can anyone tell me what the latest version of TranScript is? we have had two different versions on our SUN/MASSCOMP kit for some time now, and I would particularly like a version in which psdit wasn't limited to a selection of 10 fonts---even ATM comes with 13 :-) L.Carr@ecs.soton.ac.uk Les Carr Tel: +44 703 593649 Dept of Electronics and Computer Science Fax: +44 703 593939 University of Southampton Telex: 47661 SOTONU G Southampton SO9 5NH England

We are looking to replace our old version of TranScript, which is driving some laser writers from Sun 3's. Are there any public domain (or whatever) spoolers? Thanks. karl@cs.umb.edu
