I have a problem with mail set up. We have a mailhost within yellow pages domain. In this domain we have a aliases file which forwards some mail of a selected group of users to a standalone system (this machines is outside the yellow page domain) which is not running yellow pages and has own set of users, it is however configured has a mail subsidiary of the mailhost, with the appropriate sendmail.cf file. At a random time, when some mail is sent from the yp domain to users whose mail is forwarded to the standalone system, the mail does not reach there, and there mailer-daemon comes back with following message: ---Transcript of session follows--- 554 <adt@geoquest.com....Mail loop detected 554 sendall: too many hops (30 max) Then there are 30 headers showing two-way communication between the two machines. For some reason the standalone system does not accept thew mail. Irritating message on the console: SYSRR and SENDALL. I am working with a sun-engineer for the past three weeks, but no luck. I would appreciate some sun-managers help & views as to what is the problem. thanks adity@cs.uh.com Phone:713-952-2100 Ad. Talwar
