[comp.sys.sun] Only 4 discs on a SCSI interface of a SS2

I was told that on a SUN UNIX system, the kernel restricts the disc
capacity on a SCSI bus  to 4 disc drives only (instead of 7 device ports
on a SCSI).  Is this really true?
