From: Steve Woods <cepu!scw@ucla-locus> A problem not yet addressed (for the PDP-11 style machines) is the fact that programs that would be the most likley users of shared librarys (*LARGE* ones) are the ones least able to use them (due to memory granularity). This problem crops up quite often in RSX-11 with SYSRES references to the shareable fortran run time system.
