We're looking for an interpreted language environment, hopefully C or some reasonably advanced language, under UNIX. We've been given the names of Saber C/C++ and Catalytix Safe C, both of which are interpreted environments. We're wondering if there's anyone else out there who has any experience with these packages or with others they might be willing to discuss. Our application is a testing environment where we'll be having some engineers at a console entering data into registers, and they'll need to be able to load variables and data structures, perform looping, control flow with conditionals, and possibly get a bit more advanced. Fast turnaround time is important, which is why we believe an interactive interpreted environment is what we need. The data will eventually be sent to boards connected to the Sun. Please mail any comments to me, and I'll summarize and post to the net if there is sufficient interest. And if I'm not being clear in what I'm asking for, again send questions my way, preferably by e-mail. -Arthur Na ana@csd475a.erim.org
