Announcing MandelbrotTool version 1.0

What is it?
-----------

MandelbrotTool is a SunView based programme to calculate and display the
Mandelbrot set and associated Julia sets. Features include saving and
loading images to and from disc, zoom functions, changing and rolling the
colourmap and calculating images using a process on a remote machine in a
network. Also included is a facility for animating a zoom into the
Mandelbrot set as well as animating a sequence involving Julia sets.

Where can I get it from?
------------------------

MandelbrotTool is available via anonymous FTP from one of two places:

(1) titan.rice.edu (128.42.1.30)
    Directory: sun-source
(2) oersted.ltf.dth.dk (129.142.66.16)
    Directory: pub/sunview

In both cases the source can be found in shar kit form in the files
MandelbrotTool-1.0_kit0{1-4}. Once the files have been unpacked follow the
instructions in the README file to make and use the programme.

Unfortunately, the moderator of the titan.rice.edu archive has decided to
put the source for this brilliant programme into files other than those
cited and WITHOUT telling anyone :^). It seems that you can find them in
mandkit.{1-4}.shar. The files on the European side remain the same,
however.

[[Ed's Note: Sorry for the omission. The following should have appeared at
the bottom of your original message. (The Titan archive server doesn't
deal well with mixed case names which is the reason for renaming.) -bdg]]

FTP	Hostname : titan.rice.edu (128.42.1.30)
	Directory: sun-source
	Filenames: mandkit.[1-4].shar
Filesizes: 4 files totalling 136108 bytes

Archive Server Address: archive-server@rice.edu
Archive Server Command: send source mandkit.[1-4].shar
