After my last posting, I got mail from a zillion people asking for more info. Here is everything I can glen out of the ad, which is on page 32 of the May 1991 Unix World. I quote their info below. They only talk Mips, no SPECs. When they say $xxx per month, I don't know whether they mean rent or payments spread over time. They have three products: 1. Addon card for 286/386/486 VGA PC. $4495. Partition your hard disk and install full SunOS. Card includes 8Meg RAM, Ethernet, two S-Bus slots. Software for SunOS <==> DOS file transfer. 15.8 Mips. Another price mentioned is $158/month. 2. SPARClone1 is a full SS1+. More peripheral space and a bigger power supply. 16Meg, 19" mono, 3.5" floppy, 207 Meg HD, one year of maintenance is $263/month. Drop the HD and it's $228/month, or $6495. 3. SS2 clone, < $8000, $281/month. 28.5 Mips. Call toll free: 1-800-783-3180 or 1-508-757-2840.
