Subject: 'size' field in disk_info files Summary: Expires: Sender: Reply-To: fossum@vacs.uwp.edu (Timothy Fossum) Followup-To: Distribution: all Organization: University of Wisconsin - Parkside Keywords: 4.1.1 install disk_info How is the 'size' field in the partition information for the disk_info.xxn files determined? The upgrade manual for 4.1.1 says that if you change the partition sizes for a drive after installation, you must manually change the appropriate disk_info.xxn file in /etc/install if you want add_services to recognize the correct partition sizes. It then goes on to say that the fields in the files are MOSTLY self-explanatory. But what about the 'size' field? As close as I can determine, for a CDC Wren IV it is about equal to the (integer part of the) number of blocks divided by 1954, but NOT IN ALL CASES. What is the exact meaning of the 'size' field, and how does one compute it? --
