Hi, I've got problems with two scsi disks. First, with the standard 105MB shipped with the 4/60. I can format the drive just fine, and even make filesystems and read the data, but I cannot boot from the drive without it saying 'data access violation.' I do know how to use installboot, but just in case, here's what I did: 1) Mount /dev/rsd2a /mnt 2) cd /usr/mdec 3) installboot -vlt /mnt/boot bootsd /dev/rsd2a (actaully 1) is mount /dev/sd2a /mnt). Probabaly, knowing the jumper settings if anyone's got them would be very helpful here. Second, I've got a Maxtor LXT200S which keeps getting errors of 'incomplete read'. Also, I'm using guessed-at drive parameters here, butchered from a SUN 200MB disktab entry. However, I CAN boot from this guy, but it'll eventually give up after too many 'incomplete read's. Two things would be helpful here: 1) a disktab entry 2) proper jumper settings Thanks very much for any help. - Avi Freedman freedman@euclid.math.temple.edu
