Our configuration is SPARCstation IPC's and 2's running SunOS 4.1.1, OpenWindows 2.0 and SoftPC 2.0. We looked into Sun's DOS Windows and found that at the time we were looking (I believe a new version is out or due out soon) DOS Windows didn't have EGA emulation, which we require. Both emulators have 80287 emulation. SoftPC has been able to run all of our PC applications (we've running Lotus 123, AutoCAD, Flight Simulator, PCTools, Microsoft C, Pascal and MASM, ...). The only problem I've found is that in CGA mode, print screen sends endless blank pages to our SPARCprinter. Print screen in EGA mode works fine. We got around the CGA printing by using the window dump feature in OpenWindows (xdpr). Furthermore, SoftPC emulates direct screen memory manipulation. I've heard SoftPC 3.0 is due or available and emulates VGA. Allan
