In our shop of several Sparcstation IPCs and some 1+s & 2s, all served by a 4/360 on a different floor, we've got some real disk hogs to whom 100MB are nothing. Rather than continue expanding our disk farm (currently up to 2.2 GB) and messing with archiving files to tape & retriving them when/if necessary, a largish removable drive for each of the parties concerned would be quite nice. I know about the various magneto-optical drives, but their seek and read times are rather slow. Ideal would be a 300MB or larger removable magnetic disk with a SCSI interface. Apparently Artecon makes such a beast, and I've got information in the mail from them. Does any other company sell these? I'm also concerned about driver software, and would like the drives to be changeable without rebooting the system. As usual, mail to me, and I'll summarize if there's sufficient interest and/or volume. Thanks a bunch, A. R.
