if more that just a few backbone sites do this, the newsgroup is effectively
killed across the entire net.  you seem to be a leaf node of usenet
where this is practical.  net.flame exited without a whimper when virtually
all backbone sites stopped transmitting it.  that is the degree of
influence that backbone sites have.
