At the recent ICA exposition in New Orleans there were 4 different companies demonstrating "full motion" video teleconferencing at 56 kbps. They all use some kind of motion-compensated transform, which basically means they send information only on the pixels that have changed between frames. The effect is about similar to 10 frames/second rate, and looks pretty good for talking heads, though I wouldn't want to watch a hockey game! Marvin Sirbu
