[comp.dcom.telecom] US Sprint may cut staffing

From Saturday's New York Times:

  Several hundred US Sprint jobs are expected to be cut soon, sources
  familiar with the company said. The troubled long-distance telephone
  company also plans to reorganize its seven regional divisions into
  three units, the sources said. US Sprint, which is owned by GTE and
  United Telecom, could have an operating loss in excess of $800 million
  this year, according to analysts.

Maybe it *is* time to switch ...
