I am looking for information about connecting two telephone lines together simulating 3-way calling. I have done this by connecting the wires directly together, and there is a very bad loss of sound quality between people on other ends of the lines. I have attempted to hook up very simple amplifier circuits up, and attempting to separate the signals on the lines into 2 wire pairs for each line. However I have not had any luck whatsoever, although I believe I've blown a number of components when someone calls while I'm working on this. I dont have a super knowledge of electronics, although I do have enough to put together simple circuits, follow schematics, and not kill myself in the process. Any suggestions, references, or maybe even someone who's put together a circuit to do this and is willing to share the wealth, would be greatly appreciated. I do have 3-way calling on both lines, but have times when having more than 2 other people on at once would be conveinent, so suggestions such as "get 3-way calling" are of no help.
