I come to the USA approx once a year (ignore the mail headers, I'm in the UK, really!). What I've been reading in this Digest has made me terrified to pick up the 'phone in the U.S., anywhere other than in my parents house! Is there any general algorithm that I can apply to avoid being ripped off, other than just looking at my hotel bill carefully, or observing that I'm having to put rather a lot of money into the call box? This is probably rather a dumb question, but the U.K. phone "system" confuses Americans, too! Hugh Davies. Huge.wgc1rx@Xerox.com
