Say what you want, AT&T still wins. My computer has a uucp neighbor in Kansas (it's called 'toto', but I regress) I discoverd that last night that communication was no longer occuring. Oh yes, the calls were going through, but when the Trailblazers tried to sync up they seemed to have great difficulty. There was something funny about the connection. A test call made around AT&T (through Sprint) worked perfectly, so I called AT&T repair. The lady asked what the problem was and the moment I mentioned "modem" she seemed to go into a completely different mode and began transcribing exactly what I was saying to her. She told me she would turn the matter over to "network". This evening, I received a call from "network". She apolgized for the the difficulty but advised me that while they had checked the local loops at both ends, they had not located the trouble yet. She indicated, however that the ticket was still open and that I would be advised when the trouble was corrected. This is to be contrasted to *other* carriers who generally give you the grand wave-off, treat you like an idiot, or just die on the problem. A couple of years ago, I got a reorder every time I called a North Carolina number. Repeated calls to Sprint repair proved worthless. At one point I was told, "not many people call this area, so we don't know when we can get it repaired. You might try dialing 10288 before the number if you really want to get through." I saved myself the trouble. I went with AT&T. -- John Higdon | P. O. Box 7648 | +1 408 723 1395 john@zygot.uucp | San Jose, CA 95150 | M o o !
