[comp.dcom.telecom] CCITT R2 Signaling Scheme

logex@altger.uucp (logex) (07/09/89)

Hi all:
I am located in Mexico City, and I am interested in getting more information
about the CCITT R2 signaling system (phone, of course). As far as i know, it
has 2400 and 2040 hz signaling tones, and it also has 6 reverse frecuencies:
540,660,780,900,1020 and 1140 hertz, and 6 forward direction frecuencies:
1380,1500,1620,1740,1860,and 1980.

What I want / need to know is how this signaling scheme works, i.e., what is
the matrix of digits and other tones and what is the purpose of each tone, such
as the 'Key Pulse' and 'ST' in the USA signaling system?

Thanks in advance for your help, and please email your responses to me, I will
summarize to the net.
