I'm sad to say that I believe the main thrust for divesting AT&T was those moneygrabbers who are the AOS and COCOT maintainers, and hotel ripoff artists, who insist on overcharging for their calls. It is those who have the most to gain from the endeavor, so they were probably much of the force that caused the divestiture itself. --jsol
