That posting from me regarding the NYNEX union 'twits' and vandalism here in Massachusetts was not meant for publication! I didn't mention this to Patrick specifically, so I apologize -- my mistake. In the case of health benefits (the point that the strike centers on), I think the union is in the wrong. Most other companies, including those with IBEW employees, do require employee contributions to health plans. I think that $4 per week is a reasonable donation. Of course, one could argue that it will start at $4 per week and end up at $40 per week in some future contract. I really don't want to get in a protracted debate about the strike. As I said, my initial comments were meant to be private. Suffice to say that I think the union is out of line in this case. It wouldn't be the first time unions have hosed their members and the public...
